Privacy policy

This page explains what we collect when you use this website, why, who it goes to, and how to ask us to delete it. It covers the website only. It does not cover a phone call, a text message, or an in-person estimate.

Who we are

What you send us on purpose

The quote form on our contact page asks for your name, phone number, email, project address, and a description of what you want built. Every field is required. When you submit it, that information is emailed to us and also saved on this website, so that a request cannot be lost if the email fails to send. That is all it is used for: getting back to you about your project.

Three other companies are involved in that, and only in that. Resend delivers the email and keeps a copy of it, as any mail service does. Cloudflare Turnstile runs a check on the contact page to keep automated spam out; it sees your IP address and your browser, and nothing you typed. CleanTalk checks each submission against known sources of spam; it sees your name, your email address, your IP address, and the description you wrote, and keeps that for up to 45 days. None of the three uses any of it for anything else.

We keep quote requests for as long as we need them to serve you and for our business records. Email us at dddeckingandroofing@gmail.com and we will delete yours. There is no account to create and no newsletter list.

What gets recorded automatically

Our web host keeps standard server logs of requests to the site. A log entry includes the IP address that made the request, the browser and operating system it reports, which page was requested, and when. These are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, and are not used to identify you or to build a profile.

Advertising and analytics

We do not run advertising on this site. We do not use retargeting or advertising pixels, and we do not sell or share your information with data brokers or advertisers.

We do measure how the site is used, with two tools:

• Google Analytics records which pages are visited, how long a visit lasts, roughly where in the world it came from (city level, not a street address), what kind of device and browser it used, and which site or search sent it here. It also records a few specific actions: tapping our phone number or email address, opening one of our project photographs, reaching for the map on our contact page, sending the quote form (that it was sent, not what it said), and landing on a page that does not exist, plus how quickly each page loaded. None of that is tied to your name. It is used to understand which pages are worth keeping and which parts of the site are not working.
• Microsoft Clarity records a playback of your visit: mouse movement, scrolling, clicks and taps, and which parts of a page get attention. What you type into the form is masked out before the recording is saved, so we cannot read it there. We use these to find the places where the site is confusing or broken.

Neither tool is used to advertise to you, and neither is shared with anyone beyond Google and Microsoft.

Cookies

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity each set a small cookie in your browser so that several pages in a row are counted as one visit rather than several. Google Analytics sets _ga and a second one beginning _ga_; Microsoft Clarity sets _clck and _clsk. They hold a random identifier, not your name or your email address.

The map embedded on our contact page is served by Google, and Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address when that map loads. If you would rather not load it, you can reach us using the phone number, email address, or form on the same page without touching the map.

Nothing on this site needs a cookie in order to work. If you block them, every page still loads and the form still sends.

Who else touches your information

• Our web host serves the site and keeps the server logs described above.
• Resend delivers the quote form as an email to us. Their privacy policy is at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• Cloudflare runs the Turnstile check on the contact page. Their privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
• CleanTalk checks each quote form submission against known sources of spam. Their privacy policy is at cleantalk.org/privacy.
• Google provides the mailbox those emails land in, serves the map on our contact page, and runs the analytics described above. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
• Microsoft runs Clarity, the visit playback described above. Microsoft’s privacy statement is at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

Nobody else receives it. We do not sell your information to anyone.

How long we keep it

A quote request stays in our email until we delete it, the same as any other message a customer sends us. If you would like yours removed, email us and we will delete it.

Google Analytics is set to delete visit records after 14 months. Microsoft keeps Clarity recordings on their own schedule, described in the privacy statement linked above.

Your choices

• Email dddeckingandroofing@gmail.com to ask what we have about you, to get a copy, to correct it, or to have it deleted.
• Use the phone number instead of the form if you would rather not type anything into the site.
• Turn off Google Analytics for every site you visit, using Google’s own browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• Opt out of Microsoft Clarity through the Microsoft privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.
• Set your browser to block cookies and third-party content. Nothing on this site except the contact-page map depends on it.
• If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honor it. We have nothing to sell or share regardless.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child sent us something through the form, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we add a tool that collects something new, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top.
